A lot of effort has gone into understanding
the environment and trying to save existing Bio regions from environmental
degradation. Such research treks understand the cause and effect
process of what is causing so much environmental destruction. One
causal answer: HUMANS ARE TO BLAME- this scenero is simplistic and at the
same time complex. Simple in that we can blame ourselves for many
of environmental ills that plague this planet. Complex, because humans
are not going to disappear any time soon. We as other species are
reproducing , but unlike other species (except insects) we are reproducing
and populating this planet at an enormous pace. And unlike our friends
the insects, we dont have another species spraying us with "Human Begone".
So, it is certain that we have the upper hand in how we effect the environment
around us. Of course, the definition of "having the upper hand" is subjective.
My definition would be very different then another individual especially
if our concepts of reality are different (See physicist Henry Stapp's article
on: Theory of Reality.) For example, my reality is based on perception
of my existence in this world - included in my perception is my belief
that all living things are connected (Some call this the circle of life).
