Howdy, all. This is just to let folks know that version 1.0 of the
"sna" package for R is now available on CRAN
(http://cran.r-project.org/), as well as on my R page
(http://erzuli.ss.uci.edu/R.stuff). For those who are unaware, the sna
package is a free library of social network analysis tools for the R
statistical computing system (http://www.r-project.org/). New features
in this version include more flexible data handling, tools for fitting
and simulating biased net processes, and various other
improvements/fixes. Details are available at the respective sites, for
those who are interested.
I should also mention that I (along with colleagues David Hunter, Mark
Handcock, and Martina Morris) have recently posted the first release
version of the "network" package to CRAN. This library supports a
richer family of data structures for relational data, and is (as of 1.0)
compatible with the sna package. This package is part of the developing
"statnet" package bundle, which was discussed at this past year's
Sunbelt conference.
Happy processing,
-Carter
