Largest Cities of Eurasia in the last millenium

These are data from Tertius Chandler (1987) for the 75 or so largest cities in the world over roughly the past thousand years, here showing Eurasian cities only. The larger red nodes represent the locations of the 5 largest cities for Eurasian, the green the next five the yellow then next and the cyan the remaining cities. The images are clickable for sets of cities. The edges simply connect pairs of cities within 600km of each other. These images are made by Pajek, by Batagelj and Mrvar, which features in the August 2006 version the option under export SVG to change once the "save as" window a new feature, which is "SVG with Controls." Clickable features that otherwise appear in the html container for the SVG images now appear within the SVG image itself, without an html shell for the image.

Credit for "inventing" this version of "SVG with Controls" goes to Wouter de Nooy, who write SVG script for the image of his graph used in his Stories, Scripts, Roles, and Networks, 2006 Structure and Dynamics 1(2):267-290

The next feature that is hoped for by this user (D.White) is to include the "next" feature of the html shells for a series of images so that the user can scroll through these images as a time-series.
