My grandfather--Valentin Schnabl (1884-1950)-- emigrated from Achomitz around 1898 to Milwaukee, where a few Schnabls lived afterwards. My grandmother (1889-1988) was an Andritsch (or possibly a Tschurwald). Somebody mentioned on the Internet that some Andritsches had gravestones in Feistritz (or Achomitz). I didn't realize until reading your study that I was probably related to the Kuglistches, also in Milwaukee. Back during the 1950s or so, they owned a popular sports bar and bowling alley in West Milwaukee next to a former factory that was big into making fork lifts then, a very few blocks south of the former Milwaukee County Stadium (now the new domed Miller park). A Kuglitsch son eventually became a pro bowler decades ago and now runs a few sport-fitness centers near Milwaukee. BTW, my second cousin, Karl from Achomitz, was a Bronze and Gold Medal winner during the Innsbruck Olympics (1976, ski jumping) and was the world ski jumping champion during that season of the professional circuit, of which the Olympics was but one venue. Now he's a physician in sports medicine and practices in Klagenfurt. That's pretty much what I know because I am not into genealogy as some of my other relatives. I think my grandfather was four years younger than another Schnabl (Johann?). So, he probably emigrated based upon that. Back in 1969, I had the Milwaukee Deutsche Zeitung delivered to me when I lived in VA. There was a story on its main page about some murder in Achomitz (by some feeble-minded Schnabl--child abuse, I think).My grandmother was a little concerned when I mailed it to her in Texas. She mentioned that it was some relative (wife of a Schnabl?).The paper mentioned that another murder occurred some twenty years earlier, probably by the same family. Gary -- Gary Schnabl
